Let’s be honest! You have lots of choices when it comes to you or your child’s extracurricular activities. This post is to not put down on other places, but to simply share what makes us special. These five points are designed to help you make an informed decision by knowing who we are and what we do! So, here are the top 5 reasons to choose Soar:
1. We are Christ-centered. Our families sign a policy saying they know that we are a Christian studio. It says that we will often pray and do small devotions with your child. We seek for all that we do to honor the Lord. This belief filters through our departments by the type of music we use and the art projects we create.
2. We have something for all age levels and interests. At registration dates, I smile as I watch one sibling take dance, while another may register for guitar lessons. This past registration, I watched a grandma, mom, and two children, each sign up. Dance, tumbling, guitar, piano, vocal, painting, or drawing – we have you covered!
3. The instructors are top notch! You will often hear me say, “I love my staff!” They are warm, friendly, and highly qualified! They truly love what they do. Another plus to our music department is that you get to select your instructor! Some students stay with the same instructor for years, while other students change it up each semester. It’s up to you and there are no hard feelings amongst the staff!
4. Our dance department believes in modesty. Dance has gotten a bad name. It is often associated with inappropriate costumes and questionable dance moves. However, our gentlemen in the audience never have to look away during our dance recitals. We don’t use any two-piece costumes. The choreography is tasteful and classy (even in hip hop.) 80% of the music is Christian. 10% is instrumental and the other 10% is Broadway/musical theatre.
5. We know our students. We make it a point to learn each of our students’ names and get to know their families. You or your child are not just another enrollment. The staff takes the time to speak with you!
So, here is
how to see us in action. First, our music
and dance recitals are Saturday, June 16th at the Columbia
Theatre. Buy a ticket on the Columbia
Theatre’s website and you can see firsthand what we do. Second, watch some videos on our Facebook
account. Third, try us out this
summer. It is not too late to
register. Our summer classes begin on
July 2nd at our new, larger location across from the Hammond
Airport. Since we are moving, you have
to set up an appointment to register.
