How Registration Works

Registration is approaching!  Time to get ready!

When Soar began six years ago, we would just set a few registration dates and simply have families come register. In our fourth year, we had some unexpected things happen. On our first registration, the line started to be about twenty people long an hour before we opened the doors. I was shocked! I walked outside and asked what everyone was doing. They explained that they were trying to get certain times or book with a particular teacher. That registration day was overwhelming to our whole staff. We worked as fast as we could, but we knew we had to find a different way to register.

Covid actually brought about the new way we register. Going into the year after Covid, we started setting registration appointments. It was done to not have so many people in the building, but also so we could focus on one family at a time.  I love this way of registering because for twenty minutes we get to focus on one family. We get to explain classes and find a schedule that works for them.

Currently, we are finalizing our summer and fall schedules. At the end of March, we will have our schedule published on our website and we will have brochures ready. At the end of March, our current families will receive a registration handout. When they turn this in, we will book registration appointments the week after Easter break. Appointments are made based on how long a family has been at Soar. Those that have been with us for five or six years get priority. The next registration days are for those with us for three to four years and then we continue working our way down from there.

For new families, we will start accepting emails on April 18th to make registration appointments. These appointments will begin on May 4th for new families. Many of our classes are offered at multiple times. If you are new, it is usually helpful to be flexible with scheduling. We currently have 280 enrollments at Soar. If only one 30-minute music time will work for you, there is a good chance it may be taken by the time you register. We continually update our Facebook and website of when classes fill up.

Side note – Our community is growing. Many extracurricular programs are filling up faster than ever before. Don’t wait until August to get in the programs. Start researching now.

What to do if you are interested in getting into Soar for the summer or fall? Go to our website, https://www.soarcreativearts.com/contact, and fill out the contact form. This information will allow us to put you on our email list and we will send you brochures when they are finished. You will get reminders of when registration is taking place. I would also follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We regularly post there. We are excited about going into our 7th year. God has been so faithful through this journey. We are excited to watch all He accomplishes through Soar.
