Hip Hop Crew Information
What will be assessed at auditions:
Ability to pick up age appropriate choreography
Personality and style in performance
What to wear to auditions:
Modest, athletic apparel with tennis shoes. Girls, please have hair pulled up.
What is the time commitment:
The Hip Hop Crew will attend the recreational Hip Hop class based on their age and a 30-minute competition Hip Hop choreography time. Classes will be on Tuesday evenings. They will attend the three competitions with us. Students have an attendance policy that they will need to agree too.
What is the financial commitment:
Monthly tuition for both the recreational Hip Hop class and the competition choreography class is $80.
The Competition costume is $95 and the recital costume is $85. Competition fees range from $100 to $200 per competition.
Also you need to consider your hotel cost and expenses while traveling.
Late payment policy:
If a student falls a month behind in payments, they will not be allowed to take class. Also, if competition fees are not paid on time, they will not be registered. This could negatively affect their group dance. Consistent problems with payment can result in dismissal from the team.
How many dances will your child be in:
One competition number and one additional recital piece. This will be discussed more once the team is selected.
How will I find out if my child is selected:
By 4 p.m. the Wednesday after auditions, an email will be sent to each family. I highly recommend the parent checking and then informing the student.
After addressing all of this, I would like to say that being part of a dance competition team has many rewards. Your child will learn discipline, how to work with a team, how to perform in front of an audience, and the gratifying feeling of working hard to accomplish their goals. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at ashley@soarcreativearts.com.
