We Are Looking For You!

If you can’t tell yet, we have been putting a lot of focus into growing Soar and reaching new people. We love what we have at Soar – fantastic teachers, wonderful families, and an environment that points to Christ. We have targeted three areas to grow in for next year:
1. New art program
2. Increase our dance competition team
3. ADULTS!!!!

When my mom first retired, we looked for something to get her involved with. We called Hobby Lobby and a few places to see what kind of art classes they had. To our surprise, there were not a lot of options. She could join a gym but she wasn’t the exercising type. This was my first experience that started me thinking that Soar could offer some things for adults.

Starting this summer, there will be a drawing class for adults. Since it is just a five week summer session, high school students will be mixed in too. It will be a great time to just try it to see if you are interested. Adults can also sign up for music classes in the summer. We have already had a few adult students that have taken vocal and piano lessons and we loved having them.

For the fall, there are a few options. Adult Painting and Adult Drawing will be offered. I’m super excited about teaching an adult tap and jazz class. Don’t worry! There won’t be any costumes or recitals. At almost 40 years old, I don’t want to put sequins on and hit the stage! It is simply to learn no matter what level you are at and enjoy time with other adults. Lastly, adults can also register for 30 minute private vocal, piano, or guitar lessons. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or more advanced, we can pair you with the right instructor.

The only stipulation on any of this is we have been asked if we will have childcare. Since our front desk workers will be focused on handling the office duties and making sure students are getting to the right locations, we cannot have additional children in the lobby that they have to watch. It is a safety matter.

We move into the new building across from the Hammond Airport on July 1st.

We have been having a great 10 th year! I cannot believe it is almost registration for summer and fall! Here is how our registration works: - Current students will receive registration forms in the middle of this month. Turn it in and during the week of Easter, our office manager will contact you to schedule your registration appointment. - New families can call or email us ( shannon@soarcreativearts.com ) beginning March 30 th to request a registration appointment. We will get your name, phone number, and some information on the student. We will also call these families during Easter week to schedule the registration appointment. -Registration appointments begin April 14 th . We schedule these by how long the family has been at Soar. These appointments are 20 minutes and we focus on the family to make sure we get them registered for any summer or fall classes they are wanting to take. -We open up online registration on April 22 nd for anyone that didn’t schedule a registration appointment. -At the appointment, be prepared to tell us what class (including the day and time you are choosing) they are enrolling in. You will need to pay any that apply: summer classes, registration fee for fall, and/or fall art material fee. We can’t hold anyone’s spot without payment. - You can view our summer classes at https://www.soarcreativearts.com/summer-2026 -Our fall dance, tumbling, and art classes are also listed on the website. Recommendation – Classes fill up quickly. I would not wait to register for fall as we can’t guarantee there will be openings. The only exception is those auditioning for competition. They don’t need to do a registration appointment unless they are taking summer classes or fall art. We are looking forward to year 11!!!
